What To Know Before Trying To Take Care Of Elderly Parents

It’s estimated that by the year 2050, there will be many elder citizens in the population. The generation today, particularly in the first world countries, have abstained from conceiving more than two children. Our economy has greatly influenced this ideology. It came from the fact that the wealthy families are practicing one or two children in order to increase the wealth of the family. More children means more partition in the wealth and that isn’t acceptable in the wealthy society. So, what does this mean in elder care?

The Rise Of Elder Population

The concept of one-child policy is a sound doctrine when it comes to wealth, comfortable life and getting rich. However, the world will suffer a lot in the future as this concept has an adverse effect on the entire population. The alarming ratios is indeed could lead to mass extinction and the rise of elders is inevitable. Fertilization rate cannot guarantee as the alarming rise of barren women unable to conceive a child doubled in number. Health care is the primary industry that could have the greatest impact as elder care, medications and other health care services is expected to increase and the demand will not be proportional. Medical facilities, drugs, even the newly developed and on-going CBD based drugs for the elders will not be sufficient.

Elder Parents Society

While you are still young, it’s important to planned out where you or your parents will be when you or they become old. It’s important to take these considerations:

  1. Your parents’ health.  One of the major necessity when one grows old is the importance of health. That’s why many health insurance are urging you because they know for a fact that this will be troublesome if you don’t have insurance plan laid for you or your parents in the future.
  2. Health insurance. As previously mentioned, getting yourself or your parents a health insurance will cover all the expenses.
  3. Medical supply. Not all insurance can provide your parents with all the medication they need. Particularly drugs such as CBD products that are still illegal in some countries. Fortunately, almost all the US states have legalized the use of medical marijuana as an alternative to medical drug.
  4. Comfortable living. Most elders tend to disregard this. They believed that they will live and stay with their children. However, not every family in the  US practice this. Unfortunately, some are brought to elder homes.
